Piano Player
She writes her own music
Her piano offers a release
It's the only time when
The bad thoughts finally cease
Her parents do not know
They would never understand
She paints on a smile
And prepares her concert grand
She plays her pretty tune
But beneath her golden charm
She arranges terrible secret
And it's strung across her forearm
You ask her why she did it
You ask her why she wanted to die
You're crying at her funeral
You never got to say goodbye
You think back to conversations
Something you may have missed
Then it finally hits you
This wasn't such a twist
It had gone over your head
You would have begged her please
She had said some kids at school
We're really starting to tease
You told her don't believe them
You told her it's a lie
She shrugged and said it doesn't matter
Im already dead aren't I?
Her piano collects dust
The fall board stays lying
Her music is never played
She was always slowly dying
