Personal responsibility (a tiny bit of humor)

Amos 3:2-3 New English Translation (NET Bible)

“I have chosen you alone from all the clans of the earth.
Therefore I will punish you for all your sins.”
3 Do two walk together without having met?

To pay the price for our own mistakes

is so disliked, and indeed almost hated

So we’re better off blaming someone else

and undergird the notion of the integrated

“He made me do it!” the battle cry

He ought to pay for my mistakes

Don’t ask me about the reason “why”?

I spend my time flat on my face.

Don’t you know this simple truth?

Society manipulated me like this

It helps me to sing the lonesome blues

When my life seems to go amiss

Maybe I should go to church

I believe in God, you know

I am just part of the curse

Adam and Eve reaped what they sowed

That’s what's wrong with government

They really should take care of this

“Give me some money” here to spend

For me, my wife, and my many kids
