A Person In The Making

Who I am today,

Has no reflection on who I was yesterday.

I take in the scene around me,

To become who they want me to be.

Close Friends they see true.

Look behind the curtain they do.

I am, who I are, who I is,

And nothing can change this.

I have baggage, unclaimed.

Embarrassed, I feel maimed.

Soon my chains will be accessories,

Walking in my own skin with ease.

Some days, I feel proud.

Some days, I feel too loud.

So, I hide until the hate fades.

In my recovery this aids.

Soon I will grow and prosper.

Waiting on other people no longer.

I am, who I are, who I is,

And nothing can change this.
