To Pepper, love, the Addict

To pepper,

you had to be so spicy.

so

tasty

Small doses turned

into numbness

My sister

ate so much

salt in

her meals that

she forgot what salt tasted like

and so needed

more

and more

you were

like that

To pepper,

I have invented a

language

made entirely of

profanity

for you

It would seem

english adjectives

are not

enough

To pepper,

I have used those

words on

myself

because

of

you

To pepper,

it seems

english adjectives

are

too

much

To pepper,

because I once chose you

my only choice now is

whether

it’s my mouth

or my

stomach

burned

To pepper,

the consumer

is

consumed

To pepper

congratulations

your fragrance stinks up

all my

meals

To pepper

I hate the way

you’re so

sharp and

nauseating

I always hated

pepper

except

when

it

smelled like

You

To pepper,

I’m only just

learning that

you are not

what

you

eat

To pepper,

I will always hate you

but let me wish

you one final

condolence because

now that no longer means

I hate me too

and that means you

lost

To pepper

we both know

I’m not the one

who won
