A path unfolded

Darkness surrounds, no light in sight
Purchased trouble with cents, no refund in flight
Trouble haunts me, pain won't subside
Lost, searching for a way to step outside

I think of light, but darkness reigns
Can bravery guide me through life's stains?
Walk like a man, run like a girl, or be free?
Lost in shadows, searching for identity

Reckless, breathless, I scream and shout
"Help!" Lost, but soon to be found, without a doubt
Darkness fades, light peeks through the night
Hope revives, a new path unfolds in sight
