The Path of Life

As we walk along this path

We are spent till the last

A drop of blood will bind

While wandering souls entwine

To live and carry on one must be strong

For the road is oh so very long

Stretching farther than the eye can see

Maybe someone shall be waiting there for thee

Many of passerby may briefly stay

But in the end they all fade away

From whence we start we will try

Until the very last day when we die

Living life as one should

Not living as we could

There's a difference there you'll find

As one tries to stay with their own kind

But life isn't always fair

And one day you may just stop and stare

Thinking of what you've done till now

Before you take your final bow

Take a glassy look to your eye

As you give your final goodbye

Look back at the path you've taken

Softly smile as you reawaken

A new life is waiting for you past the door

So remember to recount the score

To not make the mistakes again

That left you all alone in the end
