Path to Greatness

Have you asked yourself
"What's the meaning of Life?"
Happiness, wealth, dealing with strife?

Have you fathomed the question
"What's my purpose on earth?"
Work, love, possibly protecting posterity's worth?

Two roads converge; which path shall be taken?
Go with your instinct, brother,
You're not forsaken
Time throws in your face a myriad of choices
It's up to you whether to heed the voices

You're on the path to greatness
That's the aim
A hurdle you may encounter is
Others; They're aspiring for the same
Better keep your head up, kid
Because adversity, it's part of the game

Have you squandered a guess
"Is our goal to follow Perfection?"
Or shall we occupy ourself with our external complexion?

Have you wondered
Where you're headed?
Observing all the possibilities,
Hoping, praying the destination isn't dreaded

You're on the path to greatness
That's the aim
Deflect the naysayers
Who call you lame
Better keep your head up, kid
Because adversity, it's part of the game

Your future path no one will ever know
Except those omniscient Forces guiding us where we go
You've got one life to live --- "YOLO"
Try to reason and, when you can, give --- "HOHO"
Your actions ultimately reveal your underlying mo-tive

Who to look for moral advice - a Swamy
It's his words that will entice - Gandhi"
"Live today like you'll die tomorrow…"
In other words, gain motivation from that sorrow
"...Learn today as though you'll live forever"
Meaning, address your present complications now...quite clever

Don't let a bad day get you down
When the clock strikes 12,
Another comes round
Don't hide an blemish, a pimple, a spot
Don't get discouraged by those who say you can not

You're on the path to greatness
That's the aim
Better keep your head up, kid
Because adversity, it's part of the game
In a few years your due diligence
Will have people remembering your name
