Parents Are Mentors

Parents are our first mentors.

They teach us to be good,

to stay away from drugs,

and to be kind to others despite our differences,

But they don't always teach us how we thought they would.

Sometimes we learn from experience,

we see the bad, the drugs, the hate,

and everything else under that gray rainbow.

Parents are our first mentors,

they can teach us to not be them,

and thats been the best lesson some of us have recieved.
