The pain, the hurt, the fear

You're unable to escape!

You're locked inside your head,

With just your voice and fate.

The fear of flying, falling, crashing,

It all comes rushing in

Your heart starts pounding faster

And your vision starts to dim.

You can't talk, you can't think,

You can barely even breathe.

It's hard to put into words

What you feel and what you see.

The death and the destruction.

The darkness and the light.

The angels and the demons.

The fight or the flight.

The waves? They stop crashing, soon.

The darkness starts to lift.

It gets a little better

The weight? It starts to shift.

A calm is coming over now.

Fatigue is setting in.

The panic is all over now.

It's time for sleep to win.
