The Pain From Homophobia
Her humane heart beat ajar,
Poor child, being a false saint,
Combat booted feet in tar.
Searching for the dullest star,
Face drowned in rainbow paint,
Her humane heart ajar.
Long nights in a freezing car,
Words with strong held restraint,
Combat booted feet in tar.
Heartless people are on par,
Shocked, terrified, always faint,
Her humane heart ajar.
Reaching for the too-high bar,
She brings herself attaint,
Combat booted feet in tar.
Wishing for hope is too far,
Her friend -- devastating haint,
Her humane heart beat ajar,
Combat booted feet in tar.
