The autumn leaves shine so bright
I know you put up your best fight
If I had known, I would have held you tight

Some battles are meant to be lost
I knew knew how much it would cost
Your laughter still fills my ears
Sometimes it drowns out my tears

None of us told you about our fears
We all assumed you still had years
It breaks my heart to know you're gone
Everything feels oh so wrong

As the leaves fall down so fast
My mind wanders back to the past
You were always such a muse
You were just too much to lose

In the last days, I gave you one last kiss
I hope you know how much you are missed
