Our Home in the Ruins

    Why do I think?

Why do I think?

Why do I breathe?

Why can't I help?

These kids are like me

Lost in the ghetto

 no room to be free

trying to break out

to the grass that grows green

It's all in me

though I got away

I'll be here tomorrow

walking dead another day

Why can't my home be safe?

why do we kids

die each day

If I can help

If I could stop

If I were in power

If it were my job

If I could just change

one little thing

I'd be back home

but peacefully

without the guns

without the fights

with out the sirens

keeping us up all night

just love

just peace

just you and me

us holding hands

with unity

just change one thing

love thy neighbor

this is our home

only we can save her
