The Other Side of Sometimes

On the other side of sometimes, I wait with baited breath
On the other side of sometimes, I keep away from death

On the other side of sometimes, his words fall on deaf ears
On the other side of sometimes, he is blind to my tears

On the other side of sometimes, he comes back in time
On the other side of sometimes, he is only ever mine

On this side of always, he promises me gold
On this side of always, I am his to hold

On this side of always, he takes away my heart
On this side of always, his lies tear me apart

On this day I ask him, when will we be?
On this day he replies, always, you and me.

But the other side of sometimes, rears its ugly head
But the other side of sometimes, won’t rest until I’m dead.
