Only

Location

On the latest day in august, i thought back to 2009

you could smell the feat of freshman year, and the sweetest summertime.

timid timid kids with anxious smiles flooded empty halls.

back then we didn't know this place would soon change us all.

practice capt, assemblieies and attempting to belong.

jocks, band geeks, popular kids, stereotypes gone wrong.

we survived 180 days and the freshman image dissappeared.

wanting time to go by fast we said "only three more years!"

10th grade seemed so different, we finally knew the ropes.

we laughed as if it'd last forever neglecting to hold our memories close.

we all grew up a lot by then, and gained different wheels to steer.

wanting time to go by fast we said "only two more years!"

being juniors was rewarding, we gained a little more respect.

we got the grades and won the games but we knew we weren't done yet.

junior prom, late arrival in march, and our futures becoming clear.

wanting time to go by fast we said "only one more year!!"

on the latest day in august, it marked our last first day.

fellow seniors with excited smiles, already looking forward to may.

this place has made me who i am, who i've met, and who i've seen.

i am proud to say i'm a part of class of two thousand thirteen.

i'll be honest i wanted time to freeze, i couldn't believe the day was here.

it broke my heart to say out loud, "congratulations grads, we're here!"
