Old Tree

nothing much in this world

is sweeter than an apple

you picked yourself

nothing much more satisfying

than teeth going crunch

on sweet apple-flesh

and red skin

nothing much more thrilling

than straining fingers

grabbing hold and pulling down

a firm fruit

nothing much

better

than apples
