An Old Friend

Friend you left me alone today.

Heaven your mind will depart to.

Body stays to decompose down.

You are now part of Earth's soul.

Friend you left me days ago now.

Watch the whole world -- your new reward.

World you have become now  at one.

World you have befriended twice now.

Friend you left me years ago now.

Heaven and you are accustomed.

Water flows with your essence and grace.

Wind blows with your presence.

Friend you never really left me.

We are together to the end.

Lie beside you, I may be.

Glad again to call you friend.
