Ode to Creation

O rotted scripts, yellowed as teeth, this agéd ivory

Beauteous was the tongue that traced all glamor in thy tree

Whisper to thee thy history, of how thou came to be

Reveal to thee thy ancient tale of score and victory.

Twinkle and shine the stars define, thy mother's spirit wakes

O colors of the spectrum, grand, her tired husband makes

Order to keep the world ordain, her eyes temp'rar'ly ache

To rule, the law of justice and his sibling, mercy, take.

Her peace consumes the waters of his joyous laughter, lust

The fires of Hephaestus burn, the earth loses her trust

Her stroke quenches his savage'ry, his beating heart robust

Expelled are sin and misery, their plots are ever cussed.

O provéd schripts, white as the snow, these pages I decree

Beauteous, still, the tongue that traced all glamor in thy tree

Whisper to thee thy history, of how thou came to be

Reveal to thee thy sudden end, that came prematurely.
