Ode to Color

I am so lucky to see the world in color,

To wake up and have the sunlight shine on my skin.

My life has been crafted by the hands of someone who mused on pigmentation;

Who sketched the planet in incredible hues and tints.

I befriend this artist because I know that it is the closest I will ever become to fabricating such a masterpiece.

I look down at my feet,

And I am greeted by undertones on pinks and yellows and everything in between,

A complex arrangement of shades that I will never understand,

Yet I am forever grateful for.

The light floods into my soul during these early hours and I can't help but to appreciate that when I open my eyes, the Earth is not grayscale.
