Not Over

Mon, 12/05/2016 - 16:00 -- Shelene

This is it, we have won.

But in reality, the battle has just begun.

My brothers and sisters, together we stood tall.

But as the fight continues, we must promise to never fall.

We camp in glory, we camp at peace.

We listen to stories and music at ease.

But remember the fallen, remember your ancestors.

For they are the reason we have become protectors.

They fought and they swore they would never give up.

But soon, war after war would erupt.

They fought to protect, just like you and me.

And it is in their defeat that we begin to see.

We see all that matters, we see all that is true.

So we hold our hands tight alongside the Sioux.

They'll keep fighting, they'll smash every boulder.

But we won't give up, because we know it's not over.
