No Next Time

my legs feel frail again

(oh am i wilting?)

i don’t know if i’ve skipped to the end

or rewound to the beginning

unsteady i betray myself

almost done, can’t sway

not this time

this time

there’s no next time waiting

when i fall

and i wish i was here tonight

but i am apple picking

(am i?)

winter gives way to spring gives into you give up to me

but not this time.

will there be a summer

when i fall?

i am a million miles away

and the trees are in HD

i’m sorry i left you behind

where the road falls away

into the sea

but this is the only time i’ve felt

this way

and maybe someday i’ll leave me
