At Night I Cried Your Name

Sun, 01/08/2012 - 21:42 -- poet

I feel your lips straight down to my hips
I’m feeling so sure, I want you even more
you called my name and I jumped up and came
we talked for hours until they made us get off for days
at night I cried your name as you did mine
but we got better cause the next day I knew you was mine
for some reason I can’t eat, sleep or drink without thinking of you
how can this be? I don’t even know you
I don’t even think I need to know you
I’m your princess and your my Prince Charming
because the truth is there before the history can unfold
I take this oppertunity to make everything to be better before the story is told
we mold our lives together to make it to what we want to be
for we are one and we see not another
my heart beat matches to yours as we step to our own beat and it makes our own sounds
it is us walking down the street holding hands laughing at every joke each one of us says
but soon that will come to an end for you crossed the line, disrespect I might add
you got another woman pregnant, doesn’t that make it your sixth child?
Caution is what I guess you can’t seem to get, for you says it was an accident but you knew what you were doing
you say you were drunk but you were sober
you said, “what?”
But you know “what” stop with the lies
my heart is broken torn into pieces
I picked them up slowly for one day I wish you’d come along side
to pick up the rest of the pieces for I am done trying cause trying ain’t getting better
I moved to to find someone to take care of me like no other
I got my daughter Jasmin who constantly asks “Where is my father?”
and the answer I give her, if only you knew who is was.

This is a very intense poem, and deals with many important issues, including pregnancy. My favorite line is "my heart beat matches to yours as we step to our own beat and it makes our own sounds" because it shows how two people can have a very deep connection to each other.
