Nicaragua Love

Mon, 01/16/2017 - 15:42 -- stiffin

Sheltered I have lived

Eyes opened and guilt revealed

Children empty sans home

A place I traveled

Three thousand miles from my home

To true poverty

Forever grateful

For the life I'm given

But more for the kids

Their endless big smiles

And love filled my heart with more

Than any wealth could bring me

This is a poem about my growth and change after I traveled and Volunteered at an orpahange in Nicaragua. I would recommend traveling abroad to anyone and everyone. But try traveling to the not so pretty places.
