New Me

A year of learning

some loving, some sorrow

I yearned for college

like there was no tomorrow;

A year of love

heartbreaks and pain,

but then I met you

and I was not afraid to feel again.

A silver lining I found in college,

in the first semester I gained experience and knowledge.

If I knew then what I know now,

my dreams become less how and more when.

Changing and metamorphasizing,

I grew and grew.

The me I am now is not the same girl you knew.

I'm stronger than you think, and smarter than you thought,

a little, ignorant girl I am not.

I know so much now and life moves with ease,

I know that who I am now is sure to please.

Thank you for the lessons,

though some were hard and full of pain,

in the end it was for the better,

because I truly have gained.
