Need Answers

I wake up and thank God for letting me see another day,

Then I pray that God watches over me

Since there’s people that want me dead because of the color of my skin,

When did the world start moving backwards and let history repeat its self?

I try to make sure I stay away from the trouble but it’s like it keeps pulling me in,

I want raise my voice and fight with my fellow brothers and sisters but,

I’m too afraid to what is to come,

There has been numerous black deaths done by police officers,

And those who hate us because of our race

Tell me God when this pain will stop,

Why should I have to look over my shoulder every day?

Will this ever end?

Because we need answers, I’m tired of putting my hands up and saying don’t shot
