Nature
My foot sinks in the moist,
Freshly dewed grass.
I feel my systems rejoice
As my feelings rush en masse.
Nature is inspiration.
When I’m feeling down,
When I’m lacking communication,
Nature always takes away my frown.
In winter, people say nature dies,
That all things beautiful become gray as slate.
I know better, I ignore these lies.
I look at winter like it’s a golden plate.
Yes, the wintery nature is dark and cold,
But there is beauty in animals huddling in nests,
As birds cuddle close, young ones and old,
Settling down for a well deserved winter’s rest.
But, if in winter nature truly dies, in spring it comes alive.
Aroma filled flowers begin to bloom,
And gorgeous colors being to thrive.
So give spring some room,
As animals begin to have babies.
Oh boy, the joyous joy of life!
Spring brings millions of smiles with ease,
The magic is enough to end any strife.
In summer, I’m inspired by clouds.
They look soft and cozy like blankets.
I lay in the grass watching with music blaring loud,
And to watch them forever, I’d happily miss a hundred banquets.
In summer, everything is so green,
The grass and all the trees,
Who would ever want to miss this scene?
Just relaxing in a hot summer breeze.
Then fall, my favorite season of all.
The leaves, changing colors,
Causing such a mystical show that cars begin to crawl,
To make sure all mothers
Can see the beauty fall brings.
Forrests paint themselves yellow, orange and red,
And I’m so driven by these beautiful things,
That at night I have to force myself to rest my head.
So as I stand here in the grass,
I take a deep breath of nature,
I ignore every forecast,
Because it’s okay if weather hits me like a glacier.
Nature is inspiration.
When I’m feeling down,
When I’m lacking communication,
Nature always takes away my frown.
