Narcissus's Last Day

"You're so beautiful..."

I whisper in the dark,

your eyes wide and red

but you still have my heart

"I love you..."

Ribs pressed against your skin

you must be starving for my love

lips cracked but smiling

"You should let me kiss you,

my darling litttle dove..."

We move in unison,

to taste each others lips,

but somehow we never touch

somehow we never kiss

"It's okay, I'll wait for you..."

and I do, resting my head in my hand

still staring at my love, myself

as I drift into a dreamland

but know I won't wake up
