Ive never felt so helpless 

Never so alone

I’ve never been so desperate to simply check my phone

I’ve never understood why happy can’t I be

When us being together is all that I should need

But something’s always lurking underneath my skin

I worry it’s a battle I cannot continue to win

The way I feel for you is not the way you feel for me

Or else I wouldn’t feel this way every time you leave

You tell me things that soothe my heart but then it contradicts 

Making me feel lied to and making me feel tricked

Blindly though I trust you still with everything I have 

But then it’s shown to me again it’s only on my behalf

You’d never do the same for me what I have done for you

So now I sit here to overthink what is it that is true?

I know that you don’t love me 

And I know I’m not your favorite 

I know that just because you say so doesn’t mean I can believe it

I’m trapped inside and you never help

I know that what I really need is love for myself
