Proverbs 16:18

18 Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.

My perspective

We are traveling on ... the inside is now near

Thought and eyes are focused on the well-known

Trying to discover what is new in the now and here

Looking at the same old things like we are full-grown

Probing into things that are not worth the knowing

Getting quickly puffed up ... by the sight of it

Placing it soon on our back ready for the towing

To make it home without thinking to store it in a pit

Where have you been all my life ... you are so familiar?

Where did we meet before ... my low life in existence?

What you live inside of me ... that really seem peculiar?

Am I the one who hid you under my own pretense?

I thought you only to be in others ... mostly on the dark side

Now you say that somewhere I always was your home

Look from my point of view there must be a flip side

Maybe I am a victim of the “schitzo” syndrome

Some folks like the darkness but I appreciate the light

I always keep my eyes closed so I can enjoy it

It always brings me comfort and never gets too bright

as I stumble through life trying to employ it
