MY PERFECT GIFT

My scream travelling through the walls,

Was this decision right?

I wish I could turn back and crawl,

But I have to win this fight,

Pain surging through me,

I spar

to keep my eyes open,

I cannot give up this far

Heart hammering,

Sweat seeping,

Let this be a dream,

I want to wake,

So, I remember,

What's at stake.

I give one final try.

Silence washes upon the room,

At last, I hear the joyous cry.

In that moment,

I knew, you would be my sunshine,

Through the bleakest times,

It was all worth it,

When your hands laced through mine.
