On my own

Proverbs 3:7-8

Do not be wise in your own estimation;
fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 This will bring healing to your body,
and refreshment to your inner self.

On my own

I can’t … I tried … I found ... It seems impossible

I know that I know it but I can’t seem to remember

I care … I understand … I’m bound … I feel destructible

Oh I wish to show it but it all seems in a state of slumber

Where have you been "my" inspiration? In my busyness, I passed you by

For a couple of days it seems that purposely I forgot you

Now I am here to find somehow or slyly give it a simple try

And so to get in touch with you again after I so long ignored you

If you don’t pay me any mind I will surely fall apart

I can’t handle your rejection for it drives me to deeper thought

You are always fairly kind if I give you all of my heart

In my search for perfection in my being that’s so flawed
