My Mistakes Are Me

The quiet omnipotence of my mentor

Has guided me through life.

To my younger self, I would have lent her

A small piece of advice.

To not resist these blueprints of success,

And let them ebb and flow.

Because when they are repressed,

The spirit cannot grow.

You see, my mentor has no face,

No physical characteristics to see

My mentor is my mistakes,

And my mistakes, my friend, are me.
