For My Local Public Library

For The Library

Tulani Reeves-Miller

You have always been there for me

When I needed you most

With comforting pillow-soft pages

I turn to you when I am at my worst

Seek solace in words and phrases

The world never made so much sense,

As when I was holding a book

You allowed me to explore vast universes

By giving me more than a quick look

You have always been safe and friendly

Always been welcoming and warm

Always provided me with stories

With information in its purest form

You serve the community with the beauty of words

And give access to technology with grace

You are a precious gift

You are a wondrous place
