My Hero

     You started out as one

then found the one God made for you.

God decided you were not done.

The two of you made us two.

We grew up through the support of you both.

Then one day, it was suddenly just you.

There was nothing my brother and I could do.

You took on the challenge of raising us both.

       You taught us many qualities,

though you may not know.

No, our lives do not always have our ducks in a row,

but there is one thing I will always know.

You could always do or be anything,

my brother or I dreamed.

Today, you jumble many things

just to ensure my brother and I can achieve our dreams.

You answered the call many could never imagine.

You became a single parent and still don't understand why it happened.

Although mom is gone, you still talk of her with passion.

I know at times we can all be saddened,

but your love and support for us has only grown more.

Having you as a Dad, we really did score.
