My Hero

This woman never got enough credit
She struggled and she hustled and she finally did it
She always tried to make ends meet
So her beautiful daughters could have something to eat
Down on her knees praying every night
With her bible on her bedside table to her right
I know what I'm sayin' you may not understand
But I look up to her cuz she did it all without a man
The three of us finally made it through
Things are finally looking up too
She did right by my sister and I
and I can't begin to thank her
You know why?
Because looking back on my past
I tried not to believe the struggle would last
But I know I would not be who I am today
Without what she did to make a way
