My Freedom

My story is unknown

No one knows where I've been

So now I sit here and wait

For my freedom once again.

I'm lonely can't you see

I just want to be held

Loved like all the rest

But I'll just sit here and wait

For my freedom once again.

Some people think I'm mean

But others know you are cruel

So I'll just sit here and wait

For my freedom to come again.

"Mommy, I want that one!"

I hear as I wake from slumber.

I'm sitting here and maybe not waiting?

For my freedom once again.

It was for me!

That child's cry.

I don't have to sit here

For my freedom is already here.
