My Dearest Friend

Dear Friend
You'll probably never read
These words I sew.
You'll probably never see
All I do for you.
I don't want you to.
I don't want you to worry about if I'll be okay to sleep
I don't want you to worry if I'll be strong enough to go to school.
I want you to be happy in who I am,
Not what I'm afflicted with
I want you to smile and laugh like the sun shining down
Toasting summer skin
I want you to tell me your problems and show me that meme.
I want you to live with the burning love and excitement that I can hardly muster on the best days.
Because your rays of sun make my day
Because my world is an eternal night
and no one can change who I am
Who I want to be
Who I will not stop.
But friend. Please.
Smile for me.
