My Brother

A nuisance, a loud crying baby,

I can’t express how annoyed you made me,

But I was young and I didn’t know,

That you were a blessing in disguise before you had even grown,

A shoulder to cry on,

Someone to rely on,

A friend to play with anywhere,

A little brat to constantly tug at my hair,

Someone to always ruin my makeup,

A partner in crime coming in for back up,

A kid who squeezes a little too hard when he hugs,

But doesn’t mind that it hurts you, he only shrugs,

He grew like a weed right in front of my eyes,

And into an amazing young man, he’s turning out fine,

A boy to talk to me about boys, and make sure they are good for me,

A middle schooler who is wise beyond his years and he doesn’t even see,

A gentleman who holds doors open for people and knows his manners, knows what’s right,

A child nonetheless, but on his way to manhood, he’ll do amazing things when he takes flight,

Someone who is almost as tall as me and can take me down in a second,

But if he hurts me in any way, his kind heart makes him regret it,

Someone with the biggest heart, always looking out for others,

A best friend to me, my amazing little brother
