My American Dream

There's ice in my veins, cold steel in my bones
Wrought iron bars across my heart, and the highway is my home.
I sing a song for the weary, a song for the broken soul
But none of these pertain to me, I just live for the rock n roll.

I walk a lonely road for freedom, I pay with Jackson when I owe
And livin for the stars and stripes, is how I will be known.
I set out on this highway, I sold everything I own
I've seen a million places, every last one of them I call home.

I'm living the American Dream
There's no place I'd rather be
Something never been done before
The American Dream of rock n roll.

I left Mama and her family, when I set out on this road
And still I'm out here chasin, this old dream called rock n roll.
