Throughout my life I have learned about music.

I know all of the theories.

Yet when I consider it,

I do not understand music at all.

Music is the expression of an artist's heart,

Yet, music is interpretation of every listener.

Music is the unity of thousands of voices singing the same words,

Yet, music is the individual understanding what they sing.

Music makes a powerful statement through it's lyrics,

Yet, music explains what can not be spoken with words.

Music gives hope, inspiration, and joy,

Yet, music captures sadness, heartache, and desperation.

Music can rejoice,

Yet, music can mourn.

Music has the ability to empower hearts,

Yet, music has the power to degrade spirits.

Throughout my life, I have strived to understand music.

I have learned every theory,

But I can not comprehend it's mysteries,

Because music is a power beyond all understanding.
