Mount Zion

Location

To this place I let my memories cleave-

Long ago, a time on water’s horizon,

A moment ethereal I never want to leave.

On a large, cool stump, love was received,

Drawn from my heart for you were my siren.

To this place I let my memories cleave.

Warm in the cold on that winter’s eve,

Light gave to night but our hearts enlightened.

A moment ethereal I never want to leave.

Our eyes sparkled never again to grieve,

For we were alone, our own human island.

To this place I let my memories cleave.

Ocean and you masterfully interweave,

So addictive the remedy, it’s also the poison,

A moment ethereal I never want to leave.

Just a dot in history, heart so naïve.

Proud I stood on the Mount of Zion,

To this place I let my memories cleave.

A moment ethereal I never want to leave.
