More Love

Location

Bound in shackles of fear that he might find out.

Choking on the poison surrounding her,

She begs for help in escaping her abuser.

He comes home and beats her relentlessly.

No one hears her scream.

No one sees her cry.

No one feels her pain.

Instead they all scoff at her,

“It’s your fault for not leaving him.”

Their ignorance is deafening,

Screaming that she truly is alone.

A change must be made,

More understanding and less ignorance

More love and less hatred

More concern and less conceit.

The world simply needs more love.
