Moon

Thu, 09/09/2021 - 13:19 -- Ellei

Heart jumped when it first saw you

it's confused, with joy it flew.

What is this, out of the blue?

infatuation, love untrue?

Fresh beginning at our school

reminiscing, like a fool

eye candy smile, tender eyes

kind voice, you're like from the skies.

Inspiration that sparks eternal flame

always hoping, in prayer, I acclaim

in search of Sophia, not a hindrance

unaware of it once.

Against the norm it is, the head says

you're a captain, heart compares

a newbie, expecting fate to change

how to unknow, this is strange.

'tis good you're out the cocoon

still unaware of the Moon

that cares for you too soon

hoping the waves are boon

to the heart that once was

confused, with joy, now with qualms.

Heart welcomes uncertainty

no more waiting to stop absurdity -

of this dreamy heart, certainly.
