Monarch of the Sky

Location

I let you go.

Why did I let you go?

Eyes that paraded a bright blue tint

Spoke words that only I could interpret.

A special someone

That no one else was willing to recognize.

I saw him as a king;

A monarch of the sky.

His heart was soft and light

Like the wispy clouds of heaven.

And his smile beamed like the radiant, glowing, everlasting sun.

I dreamed of soaring with him in his palace-

To live in harmony for all eternity.

Sadly,

The sun must set-

The clouds must clear-

And at that moment

I remembered

That eternity is unachievable.

The wind blew his glory away,

And he became repugnant-

 Shrouding himself in shadows.

He care naught for the beauty he once was,

So left it behind

Along with my heart.

I let you go…

Now I see why I let you go.
