A Momma That Can Pray

Dear Lord: I want to thank you

for a momma  that can pray.

It's because of momma's prayers I know

that I'm standing here today.

I remember many years ago

when I was just a child.

How many times late at night

I would hear momma praying out loud.

She would be asking you to give her strength

to make it through each day,

and praying that you would keep us all

on that straight and narrow way.

At times I have stumbled,

I've gone astray, and I did fall.

But with momma's prayers and the grace of God

I have made it through it all.

So Lord I want to thank you

each and every day.

For your love that's everlasting,

and a momma that can pray.
