To Mom and Dad

I struggle with weakness in every stride

The thought of your shattered lives I cannot defy

To have raised what you thought to be ideal

To have it disintegrate as you are trying to heal

The pressure is immense, I will not lie

And your pain is something you can't pacify

To watch our innocence bleed must seem surreal

But contently understand, your pain,  will attempt to conceal

Your hearts I will hold and caress like a lullaby

I will thrive to see your beautifully worn faces shine like the night sky

But first, with this swallowing weakness I will have to deal

And I promise one day "your happiness" I will make you feel
