Miss Universe
You and I are impossible
to understand, far from tangible sight
and inconceivable to ancient astronomers.
You and I are glorious
and bright, delighting in the night
as the world slumbers unknowing of
our wondrous embrace.
You and I are forever
infinite, approaching fast
the cold abyss of nothingness
but tis better to spin in vast orbits
all on our own
than be swallowed by
hateful misunderstanding.
Let us traipse the galaxies
without worry, without care
traversing comet tails
and asteroid belts
that we’ll fumble with
as we laugh,
disregarding the far, far
gone humanity.
Let us shed our earthly habits,
what use have I for a world
where I cannot kiss
nor dance with the one I
would give every star
every sun, every moon,
every supernova,
for one breathless moment
to awake to?
