Memories of Childhood

Laughter and chatter fill the air

As children swing on swings

Slide down slides

And race around the merry-go-round

Oh what I would give to go back to those days

To be a child once again

Playing "Pretend" with my siblings

To not have to worry too much about homework

Or stress about exams

Instead to be reliving a memory

Racing off on short legs

Leaping, jumping, twirling

Light as a feather with nothing to worry about

Just enjoying being a kid

Embracing that what once was

Yet wishing it would never end

Oh what I would give just to be a kid once again
