A Meet Silhouette of my True Self

Location

There was once a girl born into a world that let’s children live in their imagination,

But as she grew there were restraints put on her dreams,

Chains hung around her shoulders dragging her from her dreams,

Making them seem as though it would never be reached.

She could no longer be who she was inside.

She was forced to conform to society’s ideals of what she “should” be.

But the older she got she realized that life is not infinite,

On day she would die and she would never have fulfilled her dreams.

This drove her to step out from behind the curtain and reveal her true self.

I am that girl that was being held hostage by society’s ideals behind this curtain,

I have broken free of my chains and will strive to become my true self,

Without societal influence dragging me down.
