Maybe it is just me

We see them everywhere,

Masks that hide who a person really is inside.

Their mask may have perfect hair,

Or maybe it makes their stomach one less size.

And, maybe it feels like we're obligated to wear them,

That maybe if we do we'll finally fit in for a change

But wouldn't that be strange?

I thought we all rooted for the underdog,

Because we all need something to look up to right?

And if we change for them we'll just be caught in their smog.

Even if a star is different it always shines brightly in the night.

So why is it so hard for us?

Maybe we're too scared to be different,

Maybe we're afraid that if we're not like them we'll be attacked,

Cause lord knows that happened before and it left us distant

But everyday I remember my scars,

Sometimes it looks like my heart was hit by a car.

But I pride myself in each and every one,

They make me who I am

The pain i felt from the lashes of their tongue,

Has only made me stronger kinder and wiser.

And my heart makes me who i am.

I find myself drawn towards the Old Code of Knights,

And the great aspect of my soul shall follow it through every plight:

A Knight is sworn to valor,

His heart knows only virtue

His blade defends the helpless,

His might upholds the weak,

His work speaks only truth,

And his wrath undoes the wicked.

I am a knight who wears no mask.

This is who i am.

And it makes me flawless.
