I lie in bed at night and pretend the stuffed animal is you.

If I focus long and hard maybe I’ll imagine your heartbeat

Maybe I’ll feel your arm wrapped around my waist

Maybe I’ll smell the your musky cologne

Maybe I’ll feel the rise and fall of your chest

Maybe I’ll hear sighs and snores escape from your mouth

Maybe I’ll feel your legs wrapped around mine

Maybe I’ll feel a tingle from your lips on my neck

Maybe I’ll wear your old sweatshirt

Maybe I won’t feel so cold

Maybe I’ll wake up and you’ll be there.
